Author podcasts

I was remembering my early introduction to the world of Sci-fi short stories, grabbing my dad’s back issue of Analog magazine.  It just doesn’t seem like there are many outlets these days for authors of short stories to get their stuff read — that is unless they provide the readings themselves and post the audio files:

John G. McDaid | Science fiction and media ecology

I am just coming down from the thrill of listening to Scott Sigler’s Ancestor podcast, so I’m ready for something else.  I haven’t listened to McDaid’s yet, but I just downloaded it and will report back — the topic sounds great, I love anything having to do with music.  There has been a lot of talk on Adam Curry’s podcast about the impact that podcasting can have on the music industry.  Perhaps there is something there for authors as well?  And then ultimately how does this all feed into the area of education, and how we put ‘reading’ lists together.
