I guess it must be the end of a loooong school year for Mr. Powell.

And while I understand where his points are coming from, I don’t completely agree. In many cases I think people are right to be skeptical and cautious about the latest new technology. In order for change to occur people need to be convinced that the proposed alternative offers enough advantages over current practice to make up for the costs of switching. I think it is up to those of us who advocate for change to make sure we keep this in mind. And just because people don’t adopt something new in the time-frame we want, doesn’t mean it will never happen. If you keep at it, slowly, slowly, the great ship can adjust to a new course.
