Keep WordPress Secure

I’ve found WordPress to be a very secure program, and the project team to be very good about responding quickly to any security issues that arise.  But I have had some bad experiences with WordPress plug-ins.  After a recent problem it was suggest by our Information Security office that I check this web site:

Search Advisory, Vulnerability, and Virus Database - Secunia

And sure enough, the plug-in I was having trouble is listed there, along with some themes I’ve used in the past (but thankfully not currently.)  As a good practice I suggest you actually delete the files from your server of any theme or plug-in that you are not actively using.  In my recent problem the plug-in wasn’t even activated.
