I am up in Boston at the 2008 An Event Apart conference. This is my third one. And after the other two, in each case, while I greatly enjoyed the event, I wasn’t sure I’d go the next year. But then I keep coming back. And I’m happy to be here again. Why?

The special thing about this group - Jeffrey Zeldman, Eric Meyer, Jason Santa Maria, et. al. - is that they are about the why. It is thinking about the craft of the broad swath of skills and trades that make up the world of web design.. Sure there are plenty of useful how-to tips too - but it is the thoughtful stuff that makes coming back so useful. I’ve only been here through two sessions and already have stuff that I will be using in my work.

So I guess I’ll be back again. Check out the alistapart.com website to get the flavor of what this is about.
