Web site design planning

Another gem of an article at A list Apart.  Avoid the desire in a web site design process to just jump into doing the visual page design, and plan carefully.  If you don’t, for anything more complex than a basic brochure site, you WILL end up with a tangled site difficult and time consuming to maintain.

We’re working on a web redesign/strategy process here at the school, and the issue of electronic portfolios is coming up. As with many technological things, I think the issue is less about the technology and more about the user acceptance. People need to change the way they work in order to truly reap the benefits, and that takes time. This article provides a good over of the adoption process at Spellman college.
