Updates, updates
In my new-year cleaning, I’ve dusted the cobwebs out of the pages sections of my blog. There is a new about page with all types of shameless self-promotion. Enjoy!
Design, design
I enjoy fooling around with web design, and use these skills often in my professional work. And I do get put into the position of producing the visual design for sites, although I always feel a little ‘inadequate.’ I also like to procrastinate — this blog is a perfect example. I’ve had on my ‘to-do’ list for at least 8 months to overhaul the design. Well, nothing yet, but I did just update the theme from Wordpress’ themes resource.
End Blog Spam
Another reason to love Wordpress — Akismet getting rid of your comment spam. If you have a blog, and you allow comments, then you must be getting blog spam. I can’t believe these types of postings actually offer anything to the spammers, but it sure can clog up your blog to the point of making it unusable. That’s why I love messages like this:

At first glance this doesn’t look like much — at least it didn’t to me. But giving the list a closer look there is a lot here. Do one thing right — don’t duplicate what others do well — build connections to others strengths — let the users control their web experience — build your site to fit with the users larger web browsing experience.
