I’ve found WordPress to be a very secure program, and the project team to be very good about responding quickly to any security issues that arise. But I have had some bad experiences with WordPress plug-ins. After a recent problem it was suggest by our Information Security office that I check this web site:

UPDATE — as you’ve probably already seen the prior posting has now appeared. I’m still not quite sure what caused the lag time, but all seems OK now. Maybe it was something at the server end? Anyhow all is good now!

I love WordPress, which I’ve said many times before in my posts on this blog. But I do find the administritative interface a little lacking, especially when I consider its use by non-technical types. I just find the posting process a little clunky. So it was with great interest that I received the news that the new version of Adobe’s Contribute would work at a blog front-end.

Here’s a service that looks pretty useful. It promises that you can start with a video off of sites like YouTube or Google video, and re-edit it adding your own captions and other elements. Its certainly an exciting idea in the whole user-generated/re-mix culture area. And would be a great way to extract elements from a video and add comments for an education/commentary setting.
