Mobile Data Access

Last week I was on my way to a conference in Providence. I was a conference speaker at an 8:30am session the following day, and planned to meet my speaking partner for dinner to finalize our talk. The plan was to take the 1pm commuter train, stop home, pack, and then have my son drop me at the late afternoon Amtrak train. All was perfectly planned — at least until a last minute office technological problem delayed my departure from the office and I missed that 1pm train!

Firefox 3 and cross site scripting

Firefox 3 is coming, and right on the heels of the IE8 release. The new feature sets sounds great and early reviews are very positive. I’m going to wait a bit to jump onboard, mostly because I’ve got a number of extensions and don’t want to have to start tinkering with them to get them to work in the new version. I can wait.

Student Computer Lab Redesign at Carnegie Mellon

Here is a very complete case study of a student computer lab redesign at Carnegie Mellon. Agile Project Management at NerComp

One of the better sessions I attended at this year’s NerComp conference was entitled ‘Agile Project Management’ led by Patrick Masson from Suny Delhi and Ken Udas from Penn State. This is not my first introduction to the Agile concept, but something about the presentation struck a chord with me.

Web developer resources list

There are some pretty good links on here, although the entire listing is overwhelming!  Check out 93 - 95 for some WordPress links.  These days I prefer to do less straight HTML and have pages created through some CMS type system (i.e. WordPress).  But that doesn’t mean I don’t still end up doing a lot of plain ole’ HTML.  So whatever your issue there’s bound to be something here for you.
