I do love CSS, and the flexibility that you get from the no-table, fully CSS positioning and formatting approach. But it can also be a huge pain in the real world. Maybe its just me, but I’ll have the perfect layout working on multiple browsers. And then one day — bam! — some small edit or content addition messes the whole thing up. Of course I often don’t see the problem, but get a message from a staff member who is using a page on our web site and wonders why the menu is all by itself at the bottom of the screen — argh!
So I’m always happy to see these types of articles with code that I can re-use to try to at least start with a good solid basis. This site seems to have the basic layouts covered with the vertical columns as well as the header area and footer areas. Its going into my must-have bookmarks!
