The always interesting Museum 2.0 blog has an interview with staff from Columbus Ohio’s COSI science center, and their experiments using social media to connect with local audiences. They currently have a facebook page, twitter feed, Flickr group, YouTube channel, podcasts, Ning and WordPress blogs from the CEO and others. The
share page is nicely laid out and from my quick scan it looks like they are getting some good content.
The interesting this with all this is the support from the CEO. It is a big leap to turn control of even a portion of the ’story’ about your institution over to an unknown social media community. But at least in this case the experiment seems to be working.
