Ready for a new virtual leader? No, I’m not talking about some Obama hologram. The reference is to the leadership simulation software program Virtual Leader. As I’ve written in the past I’ve had the experience of engaging in the Virtual Leader training program both as a student and as a trainer. The software is designed to be used in a group, class-type setting, with the into and follow-up discussions around the simulations an essential part of the process. The students participate in the simulations on their own.
The new features now bring many of the surrounding activities into the program experience, providing a richer set of feedback for the student working on their own. From my experiences I would hate to give up the opportunity for group interaction, so I don’t think these new features should replace that. But they will be a great help to enrich the individual student work.
Pierre Thiault recently wrote me of their exciting updates:
vLeader is now:
- Easier to teach behind, thanks to the self pace mode and compliance guidelines;
- Easier to learn from, due to the implementation of many new support tools, including context based coaching;
- Easier to assess learning with, not only pre- and post- questionnaires, but also data collection on how students behave within the simulator; and
- Easier to deploy, with one-screen purchase and online deployment, tested with an online class of 1,200+ students.
If you want to learn more, I invite you to view a PPT style presentation of the new benefits and features.
