Great news!  The 2nd WordPress higher education workshop is coming spring 2010 — working title is WordPress University with the tentative date April 8.  Once again the sponsor is Nercomp and this will be part of the SIG series of workshops.  More details to come in the Fall.  I welcome any and all ideas for speakers, topics, or activities.  At the moment the days schedule is wide open, and we all know that collaboration generates the best results — be part of the fun!

At the Future of Everything workshop a sizable portion of the attendees twittered during the event, including yours truly.  It was interesting to have a back channel of conversation.  I even had a colleague from Yale following the feed — a virtual attendee.  But I also found it a little distracting and while an interesting experiment I’m not convinced it really added anything substantial to my experience.  What role should Twitter play at a conference, workshop or in the classroom?

Here is the follow-up information from the event I organized back in February — WordCamp ED: Northeast. This was all posted on the wordcamped.org wiki, but there was a spam attack, we had to restore a past version, restored the wrong past version, the site was locked down, and now I can’t get back into it to fix it.
