• Going Mobile

If your organization doesn’t have a mobile strategy you are behind the times — or so says the latest buzz in all the tech magazines.  Certainly the news on iPhone, Google’s Android, and the Blackberry are all about their web applications — none of the press refers to their phone features.  Using a mobile phone to call people is so old-school!  But seriously it is the next killer application, and in higher ed we really do need to planning for it.

And where we are using WordPress to power things, the shift to mobile gets easier and easier:

MobilePress – Enable The Mobile Web

MobilePress is a WordPress plugin that will render your WordPress blog on mobile handsets, with the ability to use customized themes. The plugin also allows specific themes for specific devices / mobile browsers, such as iPhone, Opera Mini, Windows CE Mobile and other generic handset browsers.
