An interesting post on experiences by two experienced programmers on building a native iPhone app is reinforcing my anti-iPhone-app tendency. With the arrival of the iPad this question of building a native app will probably come up more often. It seems that investing time in HTML 5 and building in a cross-device/cross-platform standards based approach for projects is the way to go — despite the usual hype surrounding anything Apple. You will end up with a application that runs on multiple devices and is better positioned for future growth, rather than locked into a vendor-specific platform.

changed to exasperation.
