Piwik an open source alternative to Google Analytics, and just named in the top 10 of InfoWorld’s listing of best open source software. Google analytics can be a hard habit to give up but it is worth a try. The community even has created a WordPress integration tool.

Piwik…provides a drag-and-drop, widget-driven AJAX dashboard; allows you to track any number of Web sites; and supports multiple user accounts with basic access controls. Plug-ins are available for geolocation and to automate the insertion of Piwik JavaScript code into the pages of Drupal, Joomla, WordPress, and other publishing platforms.
